Crypto Pulse Sprint

How to Use the Altcoin Model

The Sprint Altcoins System is made up of 6 individual single-symbol strategies that are applied to 6 of the top Altcoins in the cryptocurrency market. We have applied the same underlying mechanisms that run the Sprint BTC strategy to the following list of Altcoins:

  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Cardano (ADA)
  • Solana (SOL)
  • Avalanche (AVAX)
  • Chainlink (LINK)
  • Dogecoin (DOGE)

We have available Trade Histories and Stats pages for each of the aforementioned cryptocurrencies which apply a backtest of the Sprint strategy to the earliest possible date of each coin.

This product is designed to be used in a discretionary manner, meaning that you have the choice to use as few or as many of the trade signals for this list of symbols as you would like. Do you love Ethereum but do not want to waste your time trading Dogecoin? No problem, simply don’t trade the signals that you don’t want to.

Like the Sprint BTC trading strategy, each of these individual strategies trades in short bursts, securing profits and allowing long-term compounding of returns. When entering a position, an initial stop loss and profit target are set. Each strategy uses three potential profit targets, with ⅓ of the original position sold at each level. If all three profit targets are reached, the final ⅓ is exited at the third target, and the position remains in cash until a new entry signal is generated.

How to Trade the Altcoin Strategies

Whenever an Entry or Exit signal is generated for any of the Sprint Altcoin strategies, you are to buy the designated coin at the next possible opportunity. As the Sprint system trades within a restricted window each day that slightly exceeds the US stock market’s session, there are instances in which we may get a entries late in the afternoon after the stock market has already closed for the day.

Most crypto exchanges do not offer Order-Cancels-Order trades, limiting you to one resting order at a time for a given symbol. The strategy uses both a resting stop and multiple profit targets, so if you are planning on using resting orders then you may need to choose between a resting stop or take-profit order. Generally, prioritize stop-loss orders to protect downside risk.

Exit alerts can be triggered before the stop-loss price is reached. In such cases, execute the sale as soon as possible.

For setting take-profit and stop-loss orders, consider using Limit-Sell and Stop-Limit-Sell orders, respectively. For more information on available order types, consult the information provided by your chosen exchange.

Quick Start: Starting A Portfolio

Begin by entering positions in progress at the correct fraction, or wait for the next fresh entry signal. The “Model Portfolio” page displays current positions, stops, and targets. Familiarize yourself with identifying these levels before entering trades.

You have the option to place hard stops at the initial stop loss and orders to exit at the first target (1/3 of the position) when initiating a position, however, note that the standard rule for the Sprint Altcoin strategies is that they will not execute an entry or exit outside of our designated trading window. This means that even if our resting stop is hit for an active position either overnight or over the weekend our strategy will not exit until the next available opportunity within our trading window. If by the time the next trading window begins the position is no longer at or below its stop price, it is possible for the position to remain active.

The strategy allows only one position at a time, with 100% of allocated equity rolled into each consecutive trade.

Trading Alerts & Position Updates

Entry signals can be generated at any time within the restricted trading window, accompanied by an initial stop loss price and initial Target 1 price.

Positions may generate exit signals prior to triggering the underlying stop. If the stop loss price is reached or an exit signal is generated within our trading window, exit the position and remain in cash until the next entry signal. Do not exit an active position unless you receive an alert specifically letting you know that it is time to exit.

There are three potential profit targets, with 1/3 of the original position sold at each level. If an exit signal is generated after reaching a profit target, exit the remainder of the position.
