Welcome to the “Complete Trader” view of the current TSI leaders.
Even if you don’t have the indicators or memberships that the Complete Trader provides, this view of the list can be very powerful.
This view enables you to quickly see many important conditions of a stocks trend before you look at a chart.
There is a more detailed description of how to use this table below.
If you have the indicators or have been trained in the conditions displayed here (i.e. Real Motion (RM), Triple Play (TP), Seasonality, etc.) then you’ll use this list to know which charts you’ll find good looking charts based on these indicators.
If you do not have the Complete Trader indicators and training here are a few simple ways in which their display is still powerful.
- When the column “Stock Phase” is highlighted, it means the stock is changing phase and may have just crossed either the 50 or 200-day moving average. This is a primary measure of the longer term trends and phase changes are great trading opportunities. In fact, they are one of Mish’s favorite setups.
- Columns “Triple Play” measure Price Leadership and Volume Trend. When these are bullish (Bull) the trend is strong. If a stock is pulling back with “Bull” readings that is a healthy correction, if it’s Warn or Bear be careful and avoid it if it’s breaking under its 50 or 200-day average.
- The “RM Phase” column measures Real Motion, which is our proprietary measure of momentum. Like Triple Play (TP), when this is bullish (Bull) the trend is strong. If a stock is pulling back with “Bull” readings that is a healthy correction, if it’s Warn or Bear be careful and avoid it if it’s breaking under its 50 or 200-day average.
- The 10 DMA column indicates how many successive days the stock’s price has closed over or under its 10-day moving average. If this column has an “*” in it, this means that the day’s range is straddling the 10-day average. We use the 10-day for stops, entries, and short-term trend insight. As a result, large numbers indicate a consistent and or strong short-term trend, and the “*” indicates the stock is at an important inflection point.
- The “Stack” column is a very short-term indicator. It indicates if the floor trader pivot levels are stacked up (today’s is above yesterday’s = “Pos”) or down. This condition is powerful in determining whether today will be a trend up or trend down day. We use this in conjunction with the Opening Range to determine the best days to trade breakouts vs. reversals. This is a more advanced trading tactic.
- The seasonality columns have a lot of insight for the person who has been trained in this, but its simplest insight is that if the column has a green color, it’s in a bullish One Month or Six Month Trend. This gives you instant insight into the trend without looking at the chart.
In summary, even if you don’t have the Complete Trader resources this table quickly shows you the condition of the:
- Short-term trend (10 DMA)
- Very short-term trend expectations (Stack)
- Intermediate and long-term trend (Phases, Seasonality)
- Leadership and Volume Trend (Triple Play – TP)
- Momentum (Real Motions – RM)
